DAM software is generally priced based on three parameters:
Data storage – the more digital assets you have and the bigger the size of files, the more it will cost. For instance, if you have 10,000 pdfs it will generally be less expensive than 10,000 videos. While data isn’t massively expensive, it is a variable cost to keep in mind.
Users – Most Digital Asset Management systems have prices based on the number of users in the system. Sometimes Main Admins and those who can publish cost more than users who can view and download digital assets.
Features – A basic, scaled-down DAM software platform can cost as little as about $5,000 per year. Whereas more sophisticated DAM software systems that include Advanced AI features such as Video Transcriptions, Facial Recognition, Creative Templates, Advanced Workflows, APIs, and more will also cost more. If you are looking to combine your DAM platform with an online BrandHub or Brand Style Guide and/or Marketing Operations capability to manage creative briefs and campaigns alongside your content library – the price points will be slightly increased.
In addition to the above, you may wish to purchase implementation services that attract a nominal, one-off fee to get you set up quickly. But history has shown that proper implementation pays-off and saves you money in the long run.
