Recently, IntelligenceBank launched an online database tool (called the 'Profiler'), which enables companies to manage, update and share online, what they normally manage in spread sheets.
The beauty of IntelligenceBank’s online database profiler is that it can actively link to other information stored within the platform, such as performance charts, documents, online forum and real-time media feeds.
While many use the online database profiling tool to keep track of product lines and key accounts, using it as a knowledge management system to manage competitive insights has been very successful for our clients as well.
Competitive Intelligence is a unique area within Knowledge Management, as it truly takes a 360 degree approach to managing information. That is, while there are several competitive intelligence data providers who provide competitive pricing, advertising or product information, it is important to recognize that social knowledge from staff, and internal reports and knowledge are equally crucial, and need to be combined with externally provided data, within a central platform.
